Nigel Rafferty
Nigel studied Horticulture at Camborne College on leaving school in 1975. He was a student gardener at Probus Demonstration Gardens whilst completing his City and Guilds Examinations. He then trained in Engineering and obtained his Agricultural Mechanic’s Certificate in 1979. In 1986 Nigel joined Hennings Horticultural Ltd at as their Horticultural Fitter working on all types and brands of professional turf and groundcare machinery. In 1997 Nigel moved to Truro Tractors Ltd, employed to expand their Horticultural Section. Nigel has a huge amount of experience on many brands and types of groundcare machinery.
In 2000 Nigel decided to set up his own business specialising in professional turf and groundcare machinery and the rest, as they say, is history!
Julie Rafferty
Julie worked in the legal profession between 1980 and 2011 starting out as a Legal Secretary working her way up to Operations Manager for the largest firm of solicitors in the county. Following redundancy, Julie decided that it was “now or never” to develop the family business. Having already worked with Nigel behind the scenes for many years she joined Nigel fulltime in November 2011. Julie has applied her own skill set to the business bringing the technology up to date and concentrating on business development as well as running finance and administration. Hard work, long hours and no holidays but Julie says it’s the best move she ever made!
Adam Hicks
Adam joined Nigel Rafferty Groundcare in April 2013 following completing two years of his apprenticeship with a local garden machinery business. Now in his third year Adam is concentrating on more specialist skills such as hydraulics…………………. Adam has loved working on machinery from a very early age with a passion for vintage tractors. In his spare time Adam enjoys stock car racing and ……….. Adam says “I am pleased to be working with Nigel and …blah blah”
